From photograph
to physical object.

An image on a screen and a framed photograph offer different encounters with the same work. Scale, paper and the space around the image become part of looking.

The edition

The photographs in On the Edge, Perfectly Normal, Attachment Issues and California are offered in editions of 15 numbered prints plus 1 artist’s proof (AP). Each work has its own edition and availability; a signed certificate of authenticity accompanies the finished print.

The print

The current catalogue specifies archival pigment printing on matte paper. Pocej produces prints in his own studio, bringing the making of the physical object into the same practice as the photograph.

The frame

The standard framed format in this selection is 106 × 76 cm. Museum-style framing and TRU VUE protective glass form the finished presentation. Each work’s page shows both the photograph and the framed view.

The room

Before choosing a work, consider the wall, the viewing distance and the other objects around it. A photograph’s visual weight is not simply its size. For a particular room or a group of works, contact the studio to discuss the selection and installation context.
